Invoice Fraud
Schemes that use fake, altered, or duplicate invoices to steal funds from accounts payable.
Invoice fraud includes fictitious vendors, altered banking details, duplicate submissions, and social-engineering attacks aimed at AP. Controls such as vendor-master validation, three-way matching, duplicate detection, and approval segregation reduce exposure. Automation strengthens those controls by checking every invoice against the same rules instead of relying on spot checks.
